On November 25th, the first fully insulated ultra-high voltage large-capacity (250MVA/345kV) Transformer in China was successfully rolled off the production line at Jiangsu Yawei Transformer Co., Ltd. and packed for shipment to the United States.
At the end of April this year, YAWEI TRANSFORMER stood out in an international bidding competition. With its superior technical solution, strong quality control capabilities and significant delivery advantages, it won an order for three special transformers from an American power company. The products of this order need to meet the requirements of large capacity, ultra-high voltage and full insulation simultaneously. Previously, domestic manufacturing enterprises have not ventured into this field and there is no experience to follow.
After receiving this order, YAWEI TRANSFORMER immediately formed a dedicated design and R&D team. They conducted scientific arguments from aspects such as electromagnetic calculation and structural layout, and after screening out the best design plan, the R&D team used the latest simulation and verification software imported from Siemens to simulate and verify the entire physical process.

Since the technical solution was approved in mid-May and the semi-finished product was officially assembled in one go at the end of August, YAWEI TRANSFORMER completed the independent design, manufacture and self-inspection of the first fully insulated ultra-high voltage large-capacity (250MVA/345kV) transformer in China within less than three months. It successfully passed all factory tests and was sent to the United States.

We have successfully mastered the complete set of technical solutions with independent intellectual property rights. It fills the domestic export gap of 345kV fully insulated, large-capacity, low-loss, low-partial discharge and intelligent transformers, and also marks that YAWEI TRANSFORMER has taken a key step to break the foreign technological monopoly in the application of ultra-high voltage transformers in high-end environmental protection electrical equipment.
